Nucoda Film Master plays a supporting role for A Little Help completed by New York-based post facility MegaPlayground

A Little Help, written and directed by “The King of Queens” executive producer and writer Michael J. Weithorn, stars Jenna Fischer and Chris O’Donnell. Independently produced, A Little Help tells the story of a woman who gets entangled in a series of bizarre lies in order to take care of herself and her 12-year-old son. The dramedy, which was shot in Manhattan on the RED Mysterium by cinematographer Tom Harting, went directly to Mega Playground for full-service post production, consultation, and digital intermediate services. The independent film benefitted from the carefully planned workflow, powerful tools, and top notch color grading in place at the New York facility.

Image Systems has a long and successful relationship with Mega Playground, which has been serving the film and television markets since 1994 with cutting-edge tools, services and workflows.

“The producers were very forward thinking in their preparation for this movie,” noted Senior Digital Intermediate Colorist Michael Smollin. “They considered the entire end-to-end process from the very beginning, and brought in the team from Mega Playground early on to make sure production was on track with post. They understood that in working with RED, they needed to properly manage all of their data right from the start.”

Tom Harting explained, “I found that I was able to do everything I needed to do for our story visually, and more, working in the Nucoda. During production we were faced with a number of weather issues that we were easily able to fix with the DVO tools known for presenting the best image manipulation tools for restoration, enhancement and format conversion. I was thoroughly impressed with what we were able to do in the suite, and the power of the tools. I would be delighted to work on any project with the Nucoda Film Master again".
